The power of sustainable consumption
With consumption levels far exceeding the planet’s resources, we in the Nordic region must change the way we consume. If we can make consumption more sustainable locally, we can also influence the terms of production, causing ripples on the water far beyond our own region.
In this edition of Sustainable Growth the Nordic Way policy and action intersect on the journey towards the Sustainable Development Goal 12 on “ensuring responsible consumption and production”. Read about the latest tools for more sustainable textile and fashion industries, about new entrepreneurialism in the increasingly green food sector, and about the encounter between Goa’s tourist industry and the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
The Nordic Council of Ministers has chosen to focus on SDG 12 as an accelerator for the work on sustainability in the region. Let us not underestimate people’s willingness to change. New winds are blowing, and Sustainable Growth the Nordic Way continues to monitor developments.
